Teaching

Learning the piano should be an opportunity to have fun, but it is also a great opportunity to acquire life skills and qualities such as self-motivation and determination. Students are encouraged to communicate at and through the piano. By engaging with a broad range of repertoire, I hope to create a learning environment that is positive and culturally inclusive.

In my teaching, I emphasize the musical skills of note-reading, rhythm and sight-reading. With each interaction, I get to know my students and am able to cater the curriculum to their personal goals. I also encourage my students to develop their own musical voice by discussing their opinions and ideas about the music in our lessons. In doing so, I hope to help my students nurture a lifelong love of music and the piano.
